Low voltage is the usual choice for a deck. It runs from a transformer rather than mains, so the cable is safer to route under boards and around posts, and output stays steady through winter in a way solar does not.

The range

Seven post cap shapes: Titan and Sirius for traditional homes, Orion, Nova and Eclipse for modern builds, and Iris and Saturn where you want a lower profile.

Before you order

Add up the wattage of every fixture on the circuit and size the transformer above that total, because stair and rail runs add up faster than expected. Plan cable routes while the deck frame is still open.
