Description
Aries is the four LED solar cap, and the brightest way to light a post without running any cable to it. Four corner spots throw light down the post and across whatever sits beneath.
Supplied with 700 mA high capacity batteries, rated to run for up to 14 hours on a full charge.
Post sizes and finishes
Fits 3-1/2 through 6-1/2 inch posts, in black, white, natural brown, bronze, tan and clay.
What solar will and will not do
Solar fixtures give accent lighting, not area lighting. They mark a post or a boundary; they will not light a deck well enough to read by. Runtime also depends on what the panel sees during the day, so a cap under tree cover or on a north-facing run will fall short of the rated hours, and output drops in midwinter.
Before you order
Give the panel a clear view of the sky. Four LEDs draw more than a single source, so a shaded Aries runs down noticeably sooner than a shaded single spot fixture.
