Folly Vinyl Semi-Private Fence
The Folly Vinyl Semi-Private Fence offers the perfect blend of privacy, airflow, and architectural charm—ideal for patios, pools, side yards, and any outdoor space where seclusion meets style. Inspired by breezy cottage design, the Folly features a unique semi-private picket layout that provides subtle separation while still letting light and air flow freely.
With a 7/8” x 3” picket and 7/16” spacing, the design of the Folly provides a visual screen while still allowing air flow. When looking at the fence perpendicular to the fence line, you will be able to see through the fence some.
However, since the pickets are 7/8” deep and the picket spacing is 7/16” wide, if you try to look through the fence at approximately a 40 degree angle or greater, you won’t be able to see through it at all. The Folly meets most swimming pool codes in the Metro St. Louis area in the heights of 4’, 5’, and 6’.
This updated version of the former Imperial style now comes in two distinctive options:
Standard Option – Formerly known as Certainteed Imperial Smooth
Choose from White or Sand in clean, low-gloss finishes. Available in 4′ and 6′ heights, all panels are 8′ wide, providing a cost-effective, clean-lined look for traditional and contemporary homes alike.
Premium Option – Formerly known as Certainteed Imperial with Select Cedar
Elevate your fence with richly textured woodgrain blends, including Arctic Blend, Brazilian Blend, Sierra Blend, and Weathered Blend. These natural-looking finishes offer the appearance of stained wood without the upkeep. Available in 4′, 5′, and 6′ heights, all at an 8′ width.
Performance That Lasts
Built from high-performance vinyl and manufactured by Catalyst (a Barrette Outdoor Living brand), the Folly fence resists fading, yellowing, and weather-related wear. Internal reinforcements in each rail add strength and durability, making it ideal for windy areas or active backyards with pets and kids.
Matching Gates & Post Cap Options
Complete your project with matching walk or drive gates for seamless style and easy access. Add your personal touch with decorative post cap styles, including:

These details not only protect your fence posts from the elements but also enhance curb appeal across any property in Greater St. Louis.
