Description
The Aries carries four LED spots set into the corners of the cap, making it the brightest solar fixture in the Aurora range. The spots wash light down the post and onto the surface below rather than glowing from the cap alone.
Supplied with 700 mA high capacity batteries, rated to run for up to 14 hours on a full charge.
Post sizes and finishes
Fits post sizes of 3-1/2, 4, 4-3/8, 4-5/8, 5, 5-1/2, 6 and 6-1/2 inches, in black, white, natural brown, bronze, tan and clay.
What solar will and will not do
Solar fixtures give accent lighting, not area lighting. They mark a post or a boundary; they will not light a deck well enough to read by. Runtime also depends on what the panel sees during the day, so a cap under tree cover or on a north-facing run will fall short of the rated hours, and output drops in midwinter.
Before you order
Measure the post before ordering. Aries is the solar cap to choose where you want visible light rather than a marker, but it still will not light an area the way a wired fixture does.
